Many transport agencies and couriers assign daily delivery
orders to individual fleet vehicles following a manual
process which, at the end of the day, continues
with the tedious, costly and time consuming process
of manually reintroducing all delivery notes and data
into the corporate information system for post-processing.
However, the notably competitive environment of this
sector demands agile systems which can provide real
time information about dispatching operations and incidences
which have occurred along the delivery routes, in order
to be able to proactively deal with any possible
event, as well as to improve the efficiency of
the whole process. The driver of the vehicle has
all the information related to current and pending deliveries
on hand at all times, thus eliminating frequent phone
calls to headquarters and multiple sources of error.
SmartDispatch streamlines the following operational
challenges:

administrator assigns from his PC the list of delivery
note codes corresponding to the daily dispatches for
every vehicle or mobile user.
- Users access or download the list of assigned codes
onto their handsets.
- Users can immediately update the status of dispatches
as soon as they have been assigned by the headquarters
operations manager.
- Whenever a user updates the dispatching status of
a note associated with a delivery, the system automatically
triggers the UTM location coordinates.
